Cazuma & Andreas

Cazuma & Andreas flying straight in with – Bird

This is the first of two very exciting releases from the insanely talented “Cazuma & Andreas”. This pairing already boasts superb releases for the much sought-after labels Mule & Local Talk. With their up-to-date sonic output and incredible production skills, they have quickly become an act to watch in the hectic world of dance music.

“Bird” is a very cool number and is very sympathetic to today’s Deep House sound. It shuffles in impeccably; indicative of usual, accomplished production skills that flow through their catalogue. We then follow up with the flipside, entitled “Sleepscope”; where we’re thrown into a world of ambient techno-soundscapes, warm undercurrents and analogue rhythms backing up blissful arpeggios.
Keep your ear to the ground as this is not to be missed by anyone who likes house music polished and sparkly!

Cazuma & Andreas

Cazuma and Andreas first met in Gothenburgs burning House scene in the early 2000’s. Andreas was already releasing music and DJ-ing while Cazuma was just getting into the club scene. Some years later, as they both were getting more and more into deep techno, Andreas was blown away by Cazuma’s pure devotion behind the decks blending epic melodies and tribal rhythms together seamlessly. After having witnessed a poncho clad Cazuma mesmerizing a hundred ravers during an outdoor party on Gothenburg’s highest mountain, playing hours of strictly native american flavored techno, Andreas simply knew he had to ask Cazuma to to some kind of collaboration.
Four years and many session of astral jamming together both in Gothenburg and Berlin (Andreas new home) they’ve released music on Mule Electronic and Local Talk. In 2015 they will put out music on Atjazz Record company. The first single features the slow disco flavored “Bird” and “Sleepscope” a nine minute “afro techno meets ambient”-journey.

Cazuma is a swedish-japanese producer and dj based in Gothenburg, Sweden. He has released records solo as Cazuma on Kurbits Records and The Free Spirit Society as well as in the duo Cazuma & Andreas on Mule Electronic and Local Talk with Andreas Saag aka Swell Session. He has also been an active force in the house and techno scene in Gothenburg for several years. Indoors and outdoors and as a resident at different clubprojects. His dj-sets moves from deephouse and techno to disco and afrorhythms.

Andreas Saag aka Swell Session is considered to be one of Scandinavia’s top producers in the house and club jazz scene.

After releasing singles like ‘Music in her Eyes’, ‘Gone’ and ‘Let me Decide’ on Swedish label Hollow Recordings he joined Freerange (as Stateless) and Swedish label SLS as Andreas Saag.

Both the jazz flavoured techno singles ‘Jazz Lesson’ and ‘Latin Lesson’ on SLS and the pioneering nu jazz classic Stateless album ‘Art Of No State’ on Freerange were well received around world. While tracks ‘Tristeza’ and ‘Get It On’ were played by the likes of Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier it was singles such as ‘Falling Into’ and ‘Leave Me Now’ from the Stateless album that were grabbing the ears of the likes of Gilles Peterson and the Bugz crew.

During this time Andreas was also busy doing remixes for acts like Ennio Morricone, Jimpster and London Elektricity. His remix of Susumu Yokota’s ‘King of Darkness’ was a big hit on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide and his re:jazz remix of Soul Patrol’s ‘Release your mind’ rocked dance floors throughout 2004. He also produced tracks on Ernesto’s Japan exclusive album “Find the form” which has been a huge success on Columbia.

In 2007 the first Swell Session album “Swell Communications” was released on Freerange with contributions from such luminaries as Mr Scruff, Seiji, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Sleepwalker, Jimpster, Simbad and Domu.

During recent years Andreas has been focused on deep house and techno although with the mission of spicing it up with live soulful and jazzy elements. His bootlegs of Saint Germain’s Rose Rouge on GAMM and Joy Orbison’s Hyph Mngo got massive response and earned him tons of remix work. Official remixes during the past years includes artists such as Mark Ronson feat. By George, Laurent Garnier, Portformat, Pol On, Atjazz and Dolphin Boy on labels such as Sony, PIAS, Pets, Rebirth, Deepermotions, Artizan and Tokyo Dawn Records. Original releases the past years include People Say on Freerange, The Message on Rebirth, Leslies Vision and Jazz Lapse on Room with a view and Back to Life and In the Box on Local Talk.
