Alexander Flood – Life Is A Rhythm (feat. Cazeaux O.S.L.O)

•  Stream & Download: LIFE IS A RHYTHM (feat. Cazeaux O.S.L.O)

Cazeaux O.S.L.O brings his lyrical genius to this hard-hitting collaboration with renowned Australian drummer Alexander Flood in this fiery dancefloor heater. O.S.L.O’s slick words bounce effortlessly around Flood’s 4-to-the-floor rhythm as the arrangement evolves and intensifies into an all-in house cut. Erica Tucceri shines through with a recurring syncopated flute riff reminiscent of St. Germain’s “So Flute”, with Dylan Paul and Finn Rees holding down the bassline and chords.

LIFE IS A RHYTHM also features flowing rhythmic layers from Brazilian percussionist Aduni on congas and Cuban percussionist Alexander Scull Castillo on bata, recorded in Berlin’s infamous Red Bull Studios.

Peacey – Playground (feat. Rona Ray) (Groove Assassin Remix)

Traxsource No.1 for 14 days in August 2024.

Playground is an infectious and energetic track that has all the right ingredients.

The combination of Peacey’s skills and Rona Ray’s powerful vocals is pure magic, drawing listeners in and keeping them moving. The layered backing vocals add a slick and skilful dimension to the track, making it a standout in its genre.

Groove Assassin now takes over for remix duty, and the energy of playground hits new heights, taking the song to the dance floor and keeping the party going all night long.

Magic Number – Loving You (Abel Remixes)

This release is a masterclass in sonic elegance, blending warmth and subtlety to create a gorgeous sound that’s both intimate and expansive. This collaboration between Magic Number and Abel is a natural fit, given their respective styles, and it’s no surprise that their combined talents have resulted in something so beautifully refined.

Abel creates a perfect blend of confidence and warmth, and these remixes will surely bring a sunny uplift to your playlist, with Abel’s skilful touch with additional keyboards by fellow North-Easterner Mark Hand preserves the original vocals while infusing them with refreshing summer feels. Perfect for Summer DJ Sets this festival season.

Niwin – Shorty

Niwin, hailing from Oslo, Norway, brings a refreshing and refined touch to the European deep-house scene. His music captures the essence of this genre with its smooth and polished sound, combining intricate percussion, rhythmic drums, and captivating chords. The result is a sophisticated and elegant musical experience.

Magic Number – All I Ever Wanted (Atjazz Remixes)

‘All I Ever Wanted’ is the 4th single from Magic Number’s sophomore album ‘Badly Written Songs’. The original, as we know by now, is an 80s-tinged pop crossover number loaded with class, it nods to those Synth-Wave classics and is beautifully topped off with the gorgeous vocal tones of Sophia Marshall.

Considering their long history of musical antics together (and there have been many!), it seemed fitting to have Atjazz jump on remix detail initially. Atjazz smooths things out with his usual sound set of layered Rhodes, Moog, Poly-Synths and other twiddly noise-making machines. Martin firmly nails these shimmering remixes with clear beat production and modern stylings.

This is the first in a long series of reworks for this beautifully colourful album. Keep your ears open and your eyes peeled for more.
