Classic Music From The RAH Band

We thought we would share this wonderful classic song from The RAH Band just for the heck of it!…

“Clouds Across the Moon” is a song written by Richard Anthony Hewson. It was released as a single in March 1985 on his studio group the RAH Band’s album Mystery. The single reached the top 10 of the singles charts in the UK, The Netherlands and Sweden. The vocals were performed by Hewson’s wife Liz

Si Tew – Breathe (feat. Molly) Official music video.

Eclectic producer, and dear friend of Atjazz Record Company, Si Tew returns from remixing the likes of Aloe Blacc and The Bamboos with a collaboration featuring the incredibly talented vocalist Molly to produce this moody sonic output. The exciting next step on his relationship with ARCo which began in 2009.

Coarse and detailed downbeat rhythms set the pace for the atmospheric number “Breathe” where it is pushed further into the realm of the ethereal by a delicate and lingering vocal that acts as a perfect counterpoint to the dark vibe of the piece.

Then up steps the master Martin Atjazz, alongside one of his partners in production TrueSelf (fresh off the worldwide release of his “The Good Cause” project), who keep the delightfully pitched vocal and layer up a hip-shaker of a melody underneath to keep the you moving. I dare you not to tap your foot to this one.

Si Tew then returns to the fray with a thoughtful remix which cleverly keeps the mood of the original cut but takes the otherworldly effect of Molly’s sweet vocal to the next level. A smooth and contemplative effort to close out a deep and pensive release.

Your ears will thank you!

Jazzuelle’s music has a design of it’s own. Spiritual and imaginative.

Not at all what you would expect to be delivered by a young South Africa producer with his heart in dance music!.

Jazzuelle is a gentle and humble soul who dives to great depths where others fear to go. Inaugural EP is true artwork in it’s naked form, and with your eyes closed this wonderful music guarantees to create beautiful images for it is loaded with imagination. I for one ‘Martin Atjazz’ am seriously taken a back with this entire release and wanted to write about this awesome work myself as it has really touched my soul.

My choice cuts from the EP are Birth Of Venus, Dark Arts, and also Belverdere Café. All of the offerings on the EP are amazing but these three for my tastes really jumped out at me. You will find influences from far and wide within this collection and even fans of Steve Reich, Bonobo, Motorbass & J Dilla are going to love the diversity of this wonderful collection of songs.

“I’m very proud to have this record on my label, it’s not often once receives this amount of imagination in one hit” Atjazz

Check out Martin Iveson’s Cobra on Youtube

More entertaining music from ARCo. head honcho Martin Iveson aka Atjazz. This time in the form of his well sought after ‘Cobra’, a song inspired by Indian Beer, yes!, it’s that basic. This song has been for the most of 2013 & 2014 rocking festival dance-floors, clubs & boat parties worldwide and Martin has kept this well polished jewel under his belt for quite some time. Backing Cobra up with a strong percussive backbone is the one and only Gabrielle Poso, a Yoruba Records regular and a dam fine human being, Clicking out Kalimba loops & conga rhythms really helps cobra to enter into an organic realm.

Pulling up along side Martin and dropping and amazingly well crafted deep workout is Yoruba Records’ very own Afefe Iku. A man who does not remix songs willy-nilly and a man that is quite difficult to pin down, Afefe Iku’s tight hold over his sonic output makes this collaboration nothing but an honour for all of us at Atjazz Record Company.

Elise – Poseidon (Vinyl Out Now)

Information:

A while in the making, an incredible set of reworks of this beautifully delivered song are finally here! ‘Elise’ presents us with the awesomeness of ‘Poseidon’.

This package has been carefully reworked by some of the dance music industry’s prime producers, and each remix sings it’s own love song. ‘Atjazz’ has spent a whole year ‘on and off’ making sure his remix delivers something new, with a nod to his next full length album project this new wave of glossy soul music oozes passion and melts into Elise’s perfectly delivered vocals, a match made in heaven. ‘At One’, known for his thunderous music has lightened up his musicality to give us a solid yet respectful remix which pushes the vocal smoothly along. ‘Yoruba Records’ head man ‘Osunlade’ has once again cleared the table with his signature sound in the form of the ‘Yoruba Soul Mix’ which brings to our ears everything we love about his sound, working again in perfect harmony with Elise’s offering to the ancient gods. ARCo.’s own ‘Si Tew’ bumps his beats up in two forms, his ‘Late Night Remix’ for a softer approach and his straight up “Si Tew Remix” for the vinyl release which is set to help us click our heels across the dance-floor.

The digital release brings with it a heap of exclusives, the first in the form of the ‘Simbad Suite’ which takes Elise’s heartfelt vocal and swamps it with pads that pull strongly on those heartstrings. The beats are as tight as is to be expected from the quirky East London producer but the bar is raised even further when the sub drops late in the mix. ‘The Layabouts’ also join this story with a much wider scope on their rework, melodic and progressive, both the vocal mix & Instrumental drive through verses, middle eights & choruses with awesome power. Last up, but definitely not least is the apple bobbing ‘Leaked Wisdom Dub’, a fellow video game music producer of Martin Atjazz’s from back in the day, this guys really drives this vocal out by chopping and repeating it to create a subby garage banger.

Overall this package has something for everyone and will fit all tastes of dance music from tech-house to soul and everything in between.
