Atjazz Remix

Atjazz remixes Jorge Bezerra’s Kabiecilé

A wonderful world of sound exploration opens up as each moment passes. Rhodes and Soprano Sax float effortlessly over Jorge’s impeccable Percussion arrangement and low tonal vocals chants.

A firm favourite with ST GERMAIN, Atjazz’s re-work is an honest continuation of the original song with that definitive Atjazz styling. Depthy and steeped in soul, the combination of Jorge & Martin on this release is as concrete as you’ll get.

This Grammy Award-winning Musician has worked alongside many great artists throughout his career, notably on Ludovic Navarre’s ST GERMAIN project, on stage with the wonderful Melody Gardot and as an integral member of the JOE ZAWINUL Syndicate that allowed him to share the stage with other greats, such as HERBIE HANCOCK, CARLOS SANTANA and BOBBY MCFERRIN. Recently, Jorge has reached even deeper into the realm of Electronic Music as he lends his talent to projects with Boddhi Satva, Atjazz and on this particular release, the brilliant ZEPHERIN SAINT who has remixed Mojubá into the spiritual world of percussive deep-house.

Fred Everything Ô / Her • Limited White Vinyl •

Atjazz Record Company is pleased to welcome back prolific artist and dapper gent Fred Everything.  From Canada to the UK, this skillful and ever-present producer brings over 20 years of talent and experience to bear on this exciting new release.
We delve into the offering firstly with the titular track: ‘Ô’.  A soft and muted start slowly builds up into a fizzy melodic vibe that is undercut with a tasty bass riff.  As the track drives on, the harmonies continue to build until they crescendo with a dreamy high-end hook juxtaposed with stippled sour characters.
Then Mr ARCo. himself, Atjazz, enters the fray with the Galaxy Aart Remix.  Staccato rhythms and active bass notes combine with engaging pops of synth to further illustrate Atjazz’s mastering of his craft.
We follow this with ‘Her’, a meaty beats and bass orgy that effortlessly builds into a shimmering and crystalline cut.  This track perfectly showcases Fred’s commitment to quality legitimate music and you will not be disappointed!

We conclude with the shorter and sharper ‘Devil In The Dub’ remix where only the lightest of tweaks and touches is applied, but this brings a fresh and compelling sound to an already impressive track.

Richard Hewson aka The RAH Band

Hewson founded The RAH Band – of which he was the sole member and which took its name from his initials – in 1977 – to release an instrumental called “The Crunch”. The piece climbed to number 6 in the UK Singles Chart.[4] Hewson played all the musical instruments himself. The arrangement involved the use of no synthesisers, only conventional guitar and keyboards with pedal effects. A number of jazz funk releases followed. The second big hit single for the RAH Band was in 1985, when the soul balladClouds Across the Moon“, also reached number 6 in the UK chart.[4] Vocals were provided by his wife Liz.[2]

In July 2007, Hewson released a remixedClouds Across the Moon ’07“, now featuring vocalist Emma Charles.[5]

The RAH band’s releases were issued under a variety of record labels, including Good Earth Records, DJM, KR Records, TMT Records and RCA.[4]

The smell of summer is in the air… Perfumed Garden is back. The RAH Band

We at Atjazz Record Company are once again very pleased to have slapped our palms on a real gem here in the jazz funk classic “Perfumed Garden” by The RAH Band, Richard Anthony Hewson’s project formed back in 1977. After his previous collaboration with Martin Atjazz on 2010’s “Messages From The Stars”, Richard has graciously allowed this wonderful boogie cut into the ARCo. catalogue. Good news for you fans!

The RAH Band’s Back2Bass remix certainly delivers bass in spades, which when added to an updated track with the original sugary vocal, presents a wholly 21st century re-imagining by the creator himself.

Then our very own Atjazz steps up and delivers an unexpected and thoroughly enjoyable Brazilian tinged element to take the original track in a different direction, and analogue all the way to boot. The remix retains all the elements of the original but lifts us up through the clouds and into a blissful dream of classy modern soul. As a special treat the instrumental version of this smooth, uplifting dub is also included.

And of course we couldn’t release these remixes without including the original version to remind us all that great music transcends time. This is truly bliss.

This isn’t just Afro-House, It’s Rancido’s Afro-House. #thief

Rancido is quickly making his mark in the world of house music and its many sliding genres. Thief is a little more of the chain with its rolling and forceful attitude; it also delivers a sonically stunning sound-scape and drives dance-floors effortlessly. Backing this up is an amazing piece of laidback house music in the form of ‘”04”, a string and rhodes-layden piece of music for late night chilling, some amazing work from Rancido on this incredible release. Atjazz comes through to fill up the release with his remix of the title song, taking it a little more astral and electronic but retaining the guts from the original. We’re sure you’re gunna love this one.

Atjazz & Magic Number smashing it up!

Martin ‘Atjazz’ has been in the studio for over 10 years with Ross ‘Magic Number’ and they’re back with the Atjazz Remixes of “Coming Back To Me” the debut single from the new Magic Number album coming soon on NUMB Records.

If Magic Number were to get a remix done it would have to be from their closest friend Atjazz. Ross can often be seen getting drunk/ playing bass with Atjazz and both Ross (bass) and Tom (drums) play for the awesome Si Tew, (Atjazz Record Company) Atjazz’s remix is an instant classic. From the moment the relentless syncopated bass push starts, you know this is the tune of the night. It’s deep, it’s dirty and it retains the quirky soulful vocals of the original. A real remix form a real legend. Enjoy! www.numbrecords.com www.magicnumber.co
