Happy New Year 2014 :)

Atjazz Record Company wish you a very happy and healthy 2014 and also our warmest thanks for your continued support. x

This year we’ll be bringing you a plethora of amazing music, in the form of many artist albums and new imprint output. Atjazz will launch his new label “Less than 10” early this year focusing on ideas rather than large studio sound, he’ll also be dropping his new long player under his real name ‘Martin Iveson’ entitled ‘Galaxy Aart’. More from Martin with his collaboration with Si Tew as ‘Mist Works’, their album Network has been ‘almost finished’ for over 3 years and now it’s hatching from its incubation state, stay tuned for more on this very interesting project. Si Tew’s well anticipated 2nd album is set for release late April and South Africa’s ‘Thee Gobbs’ will be dropping his Debut album early summer. Let us not forget the other guys as they have also been working hard completing projects, DJ Tipz & TrueSelf both have debut albums released this year and these full length artist albums contain some of the deepest and sensual dance music we’ve ever heard and last but not least we welcome sir ‘Jullian Gomes’ to the family with brand new remixes of his classic ‘Love Song 28’. A lot to get through yes, but an incredible sound set for you to get your ears into. First up though before any of this hits the streets is the digital release of the fantastic album from Atjazz & Jullian Gomes ‘The Gift The Curse’, also Brandy’s ‘The Ritual’ including the secretive Atjazz Galaxy Aart Dub so keep your pennies in your pockets for a few more weeks as this year is #arcoyear #abitwordy #letsgetdancing #atjazz

Years Of The Abstract – Jonatan Backelie – To The Bottom

BUY @ TRAXSOURCE

We’re pleased to be bringing you the production talents of Jonatan Backelie for our next Y.O.T.A release. The multi talented instrumentalist, singer and beat-smith takes a healthy side step from the centre in his latest offering ‘To The Bottom’.

Opening with a glitched out sub heavy rhythm ‘Rave to the bottom’ immediately sets out its intentions of lighting up any well-seasoned dancefloor. This one is not for the faint hearted as Jonatan peppers the production with 8 bit synth swatches that are not scared to sit right out front. The intense work put in is obvious, as the organic piano that appears late in the day sits effortlessly with the lab crafted sonic science that opens the release.

Step to the bottom offers a slightly different take on the same sound, with a stripped down edit that forms the backing for a well crafted bell tone to shine through. Whether you rave there or step there, Jonatan Backelie is taking you ‘To The Bottom’.

Mizgir – Surya / Ya-Rus

Introducing the brand new series of releases from Atjazz Record Company “Years Of The Abstract” boasts some of the worlds most technically abled electronic producers showcasing their sound across this very exciting release outlet.

First of which is the amazing sound of Mizgir hailing from Ukraine.

Sounding like his music has been beamed to us from another plant, Mizgir’s sound is more than a galactic space journey, as it is also very organic to the ear, what a pot of electronic gumbo this is!

With a nod to traditional Indian instruments seamlessly melding with amazing technical production accuracy, and layers of distant haunting vocal bites, this new sound is a long overdue breath of fresh air in this claustrophobic musical world. Surya being the leading song runs through at pace with delicate sub tones and impeccable sonic production, flowing like an unstoppable river it quickly becomes a real ear feast, with a perfect balance of sharp and smooth sound. Yu-Ras follows up with a more serious note, playing out its bumpy rhythms over a well-designed electronic field. Layered with lush organic instrumentation both songs tell a wonderful story, close your eyes and zone in, you will not be disappointed.

“Mizgir is one of the few new producers turning the right corners, flipping modern music on its head, while keeping his music totally playable – Amazing! – Atjazz

• “Interesting, off-kilter science but with a lot of musicality” Jimpster (Freerange)
• “Great Abstract EP well produced” Rocco (Realtone)

Atjazz & Jullian Gomes Blow things up! BOOM!

Atjazz & Jullian Gomes, Hailing from opposite sides of the world these two guys have traveling thousands of miles to come together in order to bring this wonderful release to the world. Overshadowed is mainly an instrumental workout featuring equal input from both producers. Based around the struggle to “make it in the music world” this song is full of strength & power and pushes through the underground fog which most of us have to fight through daily. Clean & sharp drums surrounded by afro-percussion drive this song while the emotional sequences bring in the combined stories of each musician. A truly heartfelt piece of work from two of the globes most dynamic electronic music writers.

Both Iveson & Gomes wear their hearts on their sleeves to bring you their own interpretations of Overshadowed and this put the perfect finish to the whole project. Because of the amount of effort and heart that has been dipped into the Overshadowed project, we’ve dropped in onto vinyl for that real touch. Keep it warm & keep it real.

At One – African Healing Dance feat. Wyoma (Atjazz Remixes)

[soundcloud id=’1994823′ autoPlay=’true’ format=’set’]

In less than 1 week this wonderful song has jammed itself into pole position on the one and only Traxsource.com. Check it out, Music to your ears, Literally!

If you can talk you can sing, If you can walk you can dance” – Wyoma

This proverbial & addictive song is responsible for bringing to our ears the most powerful & positive message in dance music over the last few months. We now bring the message back to earth with an almighty bump in the form of the “Atjazz Remixes”.

Atjazz has embodied Wyoma’s words of wisdom, taken the original At One sound, and rolled out two beautiful remixes; both of which are set to move your feet. With trademark Afro-House beats & sublime sequences, Martin has created something that is literally music to your ears.  This house workout delivers sound which is more than the sum of its parts, as Atjazz has once again ‘given his heart to hold the soul’.  This package is also loaded with a jazz licked Astro Remix for those of you who like it a little more choppy, while it also retains its composure to set a new standard for today’s Broken Beat scene.  We’ve also included for the more spiritual minded a wonderful reprise of the original African Healing Dance – no beats, no fuss!
