Clyde Beast – Snapped (feat. Jakka Blades & Manny Marko)

The next destination for Clyde Beats is positively back to the UK. Snapped (feat. Jakka Blades and Manny Marko) is a nod to the 90’s golden age of hip hop and holds within many inspirations, among them, of course, the legendary Detroit producer J Dilla. The result is an enormous-sounding release.

An addictive and hefty tech-bass line and Clyde Beats’ signature wonky rhythm are ridden by twin emcees Jakka Blades and Manny Marko. This tough sound is bound to appeal to beat and bass heads as much as to anyone with access to a capable sound system. The resulting mania will undoubtedly result in a rewind or two.

You’ll hear Clyde Beats’ backing vocals creating chords and textures that back up his fellow Derby, UK, rappers, with Snapped being their second appearance on Clyde Beats’ new album, ‘Hyper Reality 2 (An English Gentleman)’. Add turntable trickery from the brilliant Jabba Tha Kut and Atjazz on the final mixdown and we know you’ll be chomping at the bit to stream and download Clyde Beats – Snapped (feat. Jakka Blades and Manny Marko)

Magic Number – All I Ever Wanted (Atjazz Remixes)

‘All I Ever Wanted’ is the 4th single from Magic Number’s sophomore album ‘Badly Written Songs’. The original, as we know by now, is an 80s-tinged pop crossover number loaded with class, it nods to those Synth-Wave classics and is beautifully topped off with the gorgeous vocal tones of Sophia Marshall.

Considering their long history of musical antics together (and there have been many!), it seemed fitting to have Atjazz jump on remix detail initially. Atjazz smooths things out with his usual sound set of layered Rhodes, Moog, Poly-Synths and other twiddly noise-making machines. Martin firmly nails these shimmering remixes with clear beat production and modern stylings.

This is the first in a long series of reworks for this beautifully colourful album. Keep your ears open and your eyes peeled for more.

Atjazz – Track 6 (MIX 1) Strong Tough Deep Techno

Track 6 (Mix 1) Throwing a mixture of styles from Afro to Tech with lush undertones. Another no-nonsense dance-floor release from Martin Iveson aka Atjazz as he continues his musical journey through sound, stamping his assonant trademark as per usual.

Rocco, hits hard with ‘Only Drums’

With a summer of massive support from Ibiza residents Black Coffee, Louie Vega & Anane Vega smashing this every set, we’re incredibly proud to present to you Rocco’s newest offering “Only Drums”.

Rocco returns to form with this pure big room fireball. ‘Only Drums’, well… Not Only Drums, but wow do they kick!. You simply need this in your artillery. We all know very well that Rocco’s delivery is strong and with this one he is totally on point. #roccoonlydrums

Atjazz back again with No.5 in his new series!

Track 5 from this increasingly popular straight up house jams series from Atjazz. These are, as stated, “no-nonsense dance-floor releases” from Martin as he continues his musical journey through sound, stamping his assonant trademark on route. Track 5 gets very emotional and continues the super crisp sonic of the previous 4 Tracks. Sun-downers and late-nighters all in one sound.

Give a warm welcome to… Tomahawk Bang.

We at ARCo. are very proud to introduce the mysterious warrior of sound, Tomahawk Bang.

For Tomahawk Bang, music is “Himdag” or the “way of life.” As a native of Arizona’s Onk Akimel O’odham tribe; the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, Tomahawk developed his relationship with music whilst participating in traditional ceremonies on his homeland. The deeply spiritual nature of his culture serves as one of the clearest influences and most pertinent characteristics of his music. In the world of Tomahawk Bang, the music was, is, and will always be an indigenous experience.

“What first gets you into something, that never goes away. The initial inspiration… it’s mind blowing. You never forget.” –Tomahawk Bang

At the age of thirteen, Tomahawk Bang immersed himself in hip-hop culture, transforming into a hybrid of native customs and break beats. Bboying (break dance) played a major role in his development as an artist, exposing him to avenues of self-expression he had not encountered before. In the late 90’s, house music caught the ears of Tomahawk Bang and members of his famed dance collective “Sour Patch Crew.” House music opened the door for a new type of expression in movement. After years of chasing the best house music experiences within and outside the United States, attending events as a dancer was no longer enough. By 2010 Tomahawk Bang was working on the turntables, conceiving a sound all his own.

Although his heart lies with DJing, Tomahawk Bang values music production as a vital parallel to his DJ career. As a DJ, Tomahawk Bang delves deep into the grimy cellars of underground Detroit Techno, Deep House, and Dub Tech, integrating world sounds, indigenous instruments, vintage audio samples, and all that is sonically intricate. A DJ set by Tomahawk Bang is a voyage to far off places, a one-way ticket to all the “strange” that the universe has to offer. As a producer, Tomahawk Bang gravitates towards complex instrumentals and experimental soundscapes. With over fifteen years of experience as a dancer, he creates music with the goal of movement in mind. Each song embodies a narrative, tracing his bloodlines back to the sacred days of the natural world. His music is the intersect point between our digital future, and his ancestral past.

In 2014, Tomahawk Bang released his first single “Spirit in the Water” to the bay area’s Catch the Ghost records. Closely behind were two more single releases with CTG: “Dark Emergence” and “False Pretenses,” records that exemplified Tomahawk’s momentum and growth as an electronic artist. His first EP “Spirit in the Mountain” released to Paris electronic music label BeatXChangers on May 4, 2015 and caught a wave of attention from the house music community. Amidst his accomplishments and personal aspirations in music are his plans to wholly represent the Native American community, using the “Himdag” he has cultivated to inspire the next generation of indigenous peoples to follow their passions, and express their creative talents on a larger scale.

You can now purchase Tomahawk Bang’s debut ARCo. release, The Sacrifice on iTunes.

ATJAZZ

Atjazz – Does This Qualify

You’d be forgiven for thinking Atjazz has been pretty much omnipresent in the last few years – remixing a plethora of artists, recording collaborative tracks with a who’s who of quality dance music producers, not to mention nurturing new artists on his Atjazz Record Company imprint. Yet the question he has been asked most is “when will there be any new Atjazz material?”

Well, Martin Iveson aka Atjazz is back with an answer, albeit in the form of questions of his own with this 3-song release… The first song/question posed “Does This Qualify?” sees Atjazz digging deep into his love of jazz & dance as way of an answer.

Martin indicating that 'That's the one!'

Martin indicating that ‘That’s the one!’

“Well, Does It?” reiterates the question. This recording shares the same message yet flows into what is widely known these days as ‘Deep House’ rolling out electronic hats and kicks yet keeping his usual soft centered sound.

His last question is directed at the listener and also to himself – “Happy Now?” Easy there Martin we say. We’re guessing you’ve had this release pent up in that head of yours for some time. “Yes!” he answers. “People have asked me over and over for new Atjazz material and with my label and artist obligations I just haven’t had a moment for myself, so now it’s done are we happy now?”…

I guess we’ll leave him to cool off a bit then! But this is a labour of love and we can really hear his emotions flowing. A trio of songs for you all to enjoy as Atjazz takes things back to his own sound, and not a minute too soon.

Years Of The Abstract – Jonatan Backelie – To The Bottom

BUY @ TRAXSOURCE

We’re pleased to be bringing you the production talents of Jonatan Backelie for our next Y.O.T.A release. The multi talented instrumentalist, singer and beat-smith takes a healthy side step from the centre in his latest offering ‘To The Bottom’.

Opening with a glitched out sub heavy rhythm ‘Rave to the bottom’ immediately sets out its intentions of lighting up any well-seasoned dancefloor. This one is not for the faint hearted as Jonatan peppers the production with 8 bit synth swatches that are not scared to sit right out front. The intense work put in is obvious, as the organic piano that appears late in the day sits effortlessly with the lab crafted sonic science that opens the release.

Step to the bottom offers a slightly different take on the same sound, with a stripped down edit that forms the backing for a well crafted bell tone to shine through. Whether you rave there or step there, Jonatan Backelie is taking you ‘To The Bottom’.
