Magic Number – All I Ever Wanted (Atjazz Remixes)

‘All I Ever Wanted’ is the 4th single from Magic Number’s sophomore album ‘Badly Written Songs’. The original, as we know by now, is an 80s-tinged pop crossover number loaded with class, it nods to those Synth-Wave classics and is beautifully topped off with the gorgeous vocal tones of Sophia Marshall.

Considering their long history of musical antics together (and there have been many!), it seemed fitting to have Atjazz jump on remix detail initially. Atjazz smooths things out with his usual sound set of layered Rhodes, Moog, Poly-Synths and other twiddly noise-making machines. Martin firmly nails these shimmering remixes with clear beat production and modern stylings.

This is the first in a long series of reworks for this beautifully colourful album. Keep your ears open and your eyes peeled for more.

Jorge Bezerra – Reverence (Boddhi Satva Remix)

Brazil meets Africa in a head-to-head collision of ancestral styles.

Following the massive remixes Mojuba by ZEPHERIN SAINT & Kabiecilé by ATJAZZ, we now bring back to the label one of our family, BODDHI SATVA, who needs no introduction and this syncopated throw-down is seriously top-drawer. With a little more tempo than his usual output, BODDHI leaves us with a full-on dance-floor remix of Jorge’s beautiful REVERENCE, holding Jorge’s vocals and percussion arrangements clear, present and correct.

Pat Bedeau – Dance Of The Inca’s

Pat Bedeau, the main man behind the BEDFUNK imprint is back in, hot on the tail of his recent stellar output on NERVOUS RECORDS. Pat has many styles to share, and with this one, he hits it just right and just in time for Summer! Dance Of The Inca’s is a spritely affair, offering up beautiful Latin-licked acoustic guitar performed by the brilliant ZIGGY FUNK and fluttery Sax & Flute from “FINN PETERS” all held together by Pat’s undeniably solid beats. The combination of both music and rhythm drives this song forward with undying energy, a really sweet piece here from Pat.

Shouldering up alongside the title number is another similar work entitled “Summertime”. Pat lays down slight elements of Dance Of The Inca’s, but takes the journey further, introducing different melodies and instrumentation for a more in-depth experience.

ATJAZZ lends a remix to the title song in the form of his LOVE SOUL REMIX. Here, things get a little choppier where the introduction of fresh shuffling beats and soulful melodies are introduced in true Atjazz style.

We really hope you love this ARCo. debut for Pat as there will much more to hear from him in the coming months.

Mpeshnyk – The LIES EP

• Stream & Download

Over the past ten years, South Africa’s ‘MPESHNYK’ has crafted his own unique style of reflective electronic music. This collection of tunes isn’t your usual fare, and nor does it follow any current trends. Superbly made and mixed down, this EP opens gently with an ambient landscape piece entitled ‘Infinite Consciousness’: lushness flows from the well-crafted pads and conjures up an array of images to set the tone.

This is then followed by the more upbeat ‘Levitation’: without the definitive stomp of the signature ‘kick drum’ you’d be fooled into thinking that this EP may belong more on the chill tip. Well, don’t be fooled, as tracks 3 and 4 are surely set to ‘bring it’ to the dance floor! ‘Broken’ and ‘Brink of Disaster’ are both testament to the wonderful growth of Mpeshnyk’s abilities where he throws these two brilliant chunks of talent onto the table, with impressive skill and great determination. This is certainly a man you should keep your eyes and ears on this year

Atjazz – Tear (Record Store Day 2019)

Atjazz drops a massive surprise release for RSD2019. A rumbling behemoth of sound stomping around the place in a mood! featuring two very precise remixes from Soulfuledge & Peacey.

Get your copy from April 13th at on of the Participating RSD Stores in your area: https://recordstoreday.co.uk/stores/

“I’m exploring what on earth happened to ”proper deep house” and how this once incredible genre has since been bastardised in part and taken into the main stream. Not that I think that this is a bad thing, that Deep House is now very very popular, but more that sonically, most of what the world thinks of as Deep House has nothing in relation to it’s roots and/or values. Shed a tear with me!” – Atjazz

I’m now off my soap box and I really hope you enjoy this one. My dear friends @peaceyvibes & @soulfuledge have stepped in on remix detail and WOW what detail is it!

This is our Staff pick of the year, Congratulations Martin for sticking with it for over 20 Years.

• Atjazz – 20YA That Something Else

Marc – ‘Coltrane’

A dance floor/club friendly rework, as I would envisage of ‘Giant Steps’ – a volcanic jazz classic.
As an original jazz head, the feature is just fab to introduce clubbers to the past, the roots within black music – and hit them with the groove – it epitomises what Atjazz, the label is about.
Marcia Carr (Mi-Soul / Ladyz B Like)

• Atjazz – Track 7 (Mix 1)

This turned Spring Fiesta upside down when I dropped it!!
Thee Gobbs (The Gobbs Productions / ARCo.)

• At One – Okan

Jam of the year for me is Okan from At One’s EP. All the Track #’s are killer as well of course, proper way to display what house is!
Osunlade (Yoruba Records)

• Atjazz – Track 5 (Mix 1)

Let’s start with the caveat that all of the tracks in this series could stand in this position! But for me, the song, technical production and vibe that is brought by Track 5 Mix 1, is second to none! The track takes house back to the raw, seriously. It’s energetic, emotive and euphoric! It combines a punchy lead with luscious pads and a meaty beat!

I think one of the key elements that makes this track standout so much to me is the arrangement/journey. The arrangement builds around the lead as the key foundation of the track (it’s always there!). As the lead grows, so does the beat; as the beat grows, so do the other elements of the track and once a precipice is reached, the track breaks into a raw dubby vibe! Every element of the track compliments each of its surrounding elements and thus its sonic is beautiful!

It’s great for a DJ to mix and for the listener to be engrossed in the journey. It’s one of those tracks that as a producer you listen to it, and you just can’t pull it apart. You want to remix it, but you know you can’t beat the original! Job done Mr. Iveson!
At One (Yoruba Records / Atjazz Record Company)

• Jullian Gomes – 1000 Memories (feat. Sio)

Jullian Gomes’ album has many good songs, but 1000 Memories has had a profound effect on me, Sio’s beautiful vocal is an emotional listen that I never want to end. It is so hooky and infectious, and honestly one of my favourite house tunes ever in my 30 years as a DJ. Oh and if that wasn’t enough the addition of Fred Everything and Atjazz Galaxy Aart mixes make a complete single release.
Abel (Atjazz Record Company)

• Track 3 (Mix 1)

One of those tracks that instantly connect from first hearing. Deep, melodic and bumping all at once.
Kyri (R2 Records)

• Track 6 (Mix 1)

Classic Atjazz, kept highly in rotation.
Jullian Gomes (Atjazz Record Company)

• Marc – Coltrane

In a world and industry filled with uncertainty you always look for something to make you stay in the game, a reminder of what you got into this and why you need to do this, for me, this is Atjazz Records… amongst the many solid releases that focus on different musical genres of House Music it’s main body focus on the jazz and soul of it all.

“Coltrane” steps into the light and always made me feel like i can play this at peak hour or ending a great set be it at home or on the road, solid release on a solid label, looking so forward to see what Atjazz records has for us in 2018, here is to 20 more. God Speed.
Mr. V. (Sole Channel)

• Systm B – Satisfaction

Truly what I think is a superb orchestration of electronic instruments delivering more than the sum of its parts! I love what Systm B is, I love what his music stands for, realism.
Atjazz (Atjazz Record Company / Yoruba Records / Suol)

At One – Low Swung Deep House Master!

Back after a short hiatus, At One slaps us awake with “Lucid Perceptions”

Yoruba Records & ARCo. mainstay ‘At One’ is known for his well balanced, well loved productions. His ability to deliver wide sonic spaces and deep depth of sound is unmatched in his arena. Lucid Perceptions is a picture of his soul and skill, this EP is a fundamental necessity for the modern afro-tech house head. Three perfectly designed, weighty chunks of spiritual dance music with amazing density. Solid!

Atjazz – Track 6 (MIX 1) Strong Tough Deep Techno

Track 6 (Mix 1) Throwing a mixture of styles from Afro to Tech with lush undertones. Another no-nonsense dance-floor release from Martin Iveson aka Atjazz as he continues his musical journey through sound, stamping his assonant trademark as per usual.

Atjazz back again with No.5 in his new series!

Track 5 from this increasingly popular straight up house jams series from Atjazz. These are, as stated, “no-nonsense dance-floor releases” from Martin as he continues his musical journey through sound, stamping his assonant trademark on route. Track 5 gets very emotional and continues the super crisp sonic of the previous 4 Tracks. Sun-downers and late-nighters all in one sound.
