Clyde Beast – Snapped (feat. Jakka Blades & Manny Marko)

The next destination for Clyde Beats is positively back to the UK. Snapped (feat. Jakka Blades and Manny Marko) is a nod to the 90’s golden age of hip hop and holds within many inspirations, among them, of course, the legendary Detroit producer J Dilla. The result is an enormous-sounding release.

An addictive and hefty tech-bass line and Clyde Beats’ signature wonky rhythm are ridden by twin emcees Jakka Blades and Manny Marko. This tough sound is bound to appeal to beat and bass heads as much as to anyone with access to a capable sound system. The resulting mania will undoubtedly result in a rewind or two.

You’ll hear Clyde Beats’ backing vocals creating chords and textures that back up his fellow Derby, UK, rappers, with Snapped being their second appearance on Clyde Beats’ new album, ‘Hyper Reality 2 (An English Gentleman)’. Add turntable trickery from the brilliant Jabba Tha Kut and Atjazz on the final mixdown and we know you’ll be chomping at the bit to stream and download Clyde Beats – Snapped (feat. Jakka Blades and Manny Marko)

Elliot Hollins – Peachey EP

Into 2021 with a beautiful EP from Elliot Hollins. “Peachy EP” presents itself with open arms and delivers a serious, yet light quality. Elliot’s work is beginning to really make a stir in the world of electronic house music, and already has many more releases finished and lined up for the year ahead. It seems Elliot Hollins is in to win!

Introducing “Abel” Our newest deep house hero!

Welcome to the family Abel!

ROUGH OR SMOOTH offers an emotive body of electronic music. A taste for deep, electronic house music and a passion for traveling sets Abel’s table with a full plate of inspiration, enabling him to dive deeper into his music production. The album features few with Abel standing strong as the main sound provider. Inviting old friend and former studio partner CRAIG JAMES to participate and subsequently MARCEL NOUVEAUX, a soul vocal artist from West London now residing in Sweden.

• Stream & Download: bit.ly.abel

This album also sees a wonderful cameo appearance from his 7 year old son ELLIOTT. ATJAZZ features throughout the album in differing roles, key to guiding Abel through his process and assisting with additional keyboards and production. Being the Son of a Jazz musician it’s really no wonder his music carries depth, emotion and style yet he incorporates his love of the moody ‘Deep House Sound’ circa 1998, very warm and rather gritty!. An early drifter and never finding comfort sitting still or settling in one place for too long, he found peace in moving continuously through Europe, mainly traveling around France, Austria and Holland. Years later, a chance meeting in Croatia connected Abel with Atjazz, they linked up and worked out two singles.

These releases were suspended pending an album in the making and… “Rough Or Smooth” was born! This is a true journeyman’s Deep House album, generating evocative and stimulating sounds for both the clubber and the specialist looking for a little more depth in their House Music collection.

Cazuma & Andreas, Seriously devoted to their craft.

As Cazuma Mori &  Andreas Saag enter into their 2nd release with ARCo. you can hear their “Devotion” to their craft.

https://soundcloud.com/atjazz/sets/cazuma-andreas-devotion

Following on from the successful release of “Bird” in March 2015 this cross continent duo of Cazuma & Andreas have returned, showcasing their usual panache, with their second ARCo. Single: “Devotion”. The eponymous track starts with a soaring synthesizer note, which slowly and surely leads us into a deep bass vibe that massages your senses. Then, as the sensual melody lifts, our maestros take things a further notch up by introducing the vocal slices, initially subdued then powerfully present, that phase in and out of the track. As the beats and the bass caress your ears, the vocal and synthesizer combo take your mind to a realm of sonic pleasure.

For those who like their music deconstructed then, as a special treat, the title track is followed up by the “Beats” and the “Beats & Voice” versions of the piece. Definitely worth a listen as this releases previously kept secrets about the layers of music that have gone into this masterpiece of polished production. Finally we embark upon the closing piece “The Late Arrival”. An impressive mixture of rough, deep notes and pensive, profound hooks that create an insanely creative counterpoint of styles. The cut moves at an enjoyably relentless pace, as we are taken further into Cazuma & Andreas’ world of light touches, deep sounds and creative styles.

Atjazz & Jullian Gomes come to the end of the production path with their incredible album.

Both Atjazz & Jullian Gomes have made 1 last special to be released 7th November on Traxsource. Out Of My Life (feat. Bucie) is the last link in the chain for The Gift The Curse. Maybe the most anticipated song from the album yet. We’ll let you decide which dance-floor filler fills the dance-floor!

The last brick in the massive wall of sound that is “The Gift The Curse”. Out Of My Life is an exclusive, never heard before addition to the amazing debut album from Atjazz & Jullian Gomes. Looking to raise the bar even more they have this time bumped shoulders with South Africa’s one and only Bucie, a very well respected siren known for her amazing and touching work with Black Coffee, Bucie has carved herself a solid niche in her market. Out Of My Life is a techy soul house number following in the footsteps of their well polished album, superb subs, drums and floating chords allow this record to be played in any house set. Soft yet tough throughout it seems this latest collaboration will suit many dance music tastes and as per usual, no remixes on this project, just original versions to keep their individual sound rock solid.

Russia & England co-op makes for dope beats. Lay-Far & Jonny Miller – Going Home

Russia & England co-op makes for dope beats.

Lay-Far & Jonny Miller work many miles apart but somehow seem to make this amazing music like they’re sat in the same space at the same time. ‘Going Home’ is a very colourful and centered EP with brilliant sample crafting and clear beats. Lay-Far and Jonny Miller both have a great understanding of music further-a-field and it can be heard right here, broken beat, nu-disco and world rhythms are held together by a strong 4/4 backbone and the technical sampling flutters around effortlessly. This is just the beginning of the duo’s journey and what a starting point, well crafted, impeccably produced dance music styled to suit many tastes.

This isn’t just Afro-House, It’s Rancido’s Afro-House. #thief

Rancido is quickly making his mark in the world of house music and its many sliding genres. Thief is a little more of the chain with its rolling and forceful attitude; it also delivers a sonically stunning sound-scape and drives dance-floors effortlessly. Backing this up is an amazing piece of laidback house music in the form of ‘”04”, a string and rhodes-layden piece of music for late night chilling, some amazing work from Rancido on this incredible release. Atjazz comes through to fill up the release with his remix of the title song, taking it a little more astral and electronic but retaining the guts from the original. We’re sure you’re gunna love this one.

It’s one of the most interesting hook-ups in modern house music, and it’s yielded an album that will tickle ears and tease bodies for some time to come. They may live well over 10 000km apart, but the beat brotherhood between UK house legend Atjazz and SA’s most promising young producer, Jullian Gomes, is clear to hear.

Their collaborative album ‘The Gift The Curse’, blends Martin “Atjazz” Iveson’s deft and experienced touch with the Gomes’s keen modern ear for soulful tech. Throw in vocal cameos from the likes of Osunlade, Robert Owens, Wumni, Zano and more and you have a forward-thinking, funky-as-hell long-player.

Pretoria-born Jullian Gomes grew up alongside a record junkie of an older Cousin in Michael G (together they’ve recorded as G.Family — and picked up a SAMA nomination) and was absorbing the midtempo sounds of Tshwane’s vibrant club scene before he was a teenager. Little wonder he graduated to represent South Africa at the Red Bull Music Academy in London in 2011, had a subsequent smash hit with “Love Song 28” (also remixed by Ewan Pearson and Charles Webster) and ended up remixing Black Coffee, The Layabouts and Omar. But it was an unsolicited remix of Atjazz featuring Robert Owens “Love Someone” that caught the ear of Iveson.

Anyone with a passing interest in house music has heard of Atjazz. The north-eastern Englander has been producing since the mid-90s, and is responsible for hundreds of remixes, including ones for Bob Sinclar, Jazzanova and SA’s own C.9ine. When he toured the country in 2011 he met Gomes at the infamous House 22 in Sunnyside, and the two struck up a relationship that’s been blossoming ever since. The two ended up collaborating on “Overshadowed” in 2012, and the working experience and success it achieved leads to this transcontinental hook-up.

Gomes explains that the title of the album refers to the fact that with every setback, there’s an opening. It could also sum up the cross-continental span that the two have bridged to create something this special. Enthusiasm meets experience; Tshwane meets Derby; youthful endeavour meets well-honed aptitude. It’s a marriage made in heaven that makes for an album blessed with magical overtones. A landmark that sets the local beat bench extremely high.
